At over 100 years old Jaring Timmerman still swims competitively, is sharp as a tack and has no intention of slowing down. We use archival footage, dramatic recreations, and his own experiences as a world record holding swimmer as he prepares for, and swims in, more competitions.
This documentary takes us into the life of this everyday underdog. We get to know him, to understand what he is striving for and why it matters. We share triumphs -failures -his courage. We are part of his life, seeing the cost of the effort, the demands of his goals.
As well as this, this captivating film explores the scientific process of aging, whether it can be slowed down and how much of good health is genetic or influenced by lifestyle. We discuss if mindset and spiritual outlook on life affect our life expectancy, all the while following the life of this remarkable man and his commitment to achieving his dreams.
